Yapping voice chat is a random one-to-one call with sound only. Your camera stays off, theirs stays off, and the whole conversation lives in two voices and a fair amount of laughing.
For nights when typing feels slow and video feels like a lot
Voice sits neatly between the other two modes. It is quicker and warmer than typing to a stranger, and far less exposing than switching a camera on. You can pace around the kitchen, lie in the dark or stir a pot of pasta while you talk.
A voice gives away things text never can: an accent, a laugh, the pause before someone admits their favourite film. Those little details are what make a random chat feel like meeting an actual person rather than a username.

Three steps and you are talking
Getting into a voice chat takes less effort than making tea.
- Choose voice as your mode on the match screen.
- Press start and allow microphone access the first time your browser asks for it.
- Say hello when the stranger connects. Their nickname, age, country and language appear on screen, so you already have an opener.
What to say when a stranger's voice pops up
Hearing a voice you have never heard before can freeze your brain for a second. That is completely fine; the person on the other end is probably doing exactly the same.
Open with something light that is easy to answer. Ask where they are calling from, whether it is loud or quiet around them, or what they were up to before they pressed start. If you both crack up at the awkward pause, that tends to break the ice better than any clever line.
Good audio is half the conversation
Headphones beat every other fix. Without them your speaker feeds their words back into your mic, and with them quiet talkers become far easier to follow. Wired earphones or wireless buds both do the job.
If your match sounds robotic or keeps dropping out, one of you probably has a weak connection. Moving closer to the router or swapping mobile data for wifi often fixes it. If nothing improves, press next with a clear conscience.
When a voice makes you want to see the face
Voice mode stays voice-only for that match. To go face to face, end the chat, choose video chat as your mode and press start again. The next stranger sees you on camera from the moment they connect.
If it is this exact person you want to see, follow them before you hang up. Later you can spot them in the Who's online list and ask them for a private call, which costs coins.
Your voice, your boundaries
A voice is personal, so treat it with the same care you would give a photo. Skip anyone who asks for your number, your address or your socials, and do not feel you owe anyone a reason for leaving.

Why voice feels right after dark
Voice chat suits the small hours. The house is quiet, the lights are off, and a camera would only pick up a dim outline anyway. Slipping in earbuds and talking to someone halfway round the world, where it is the middle of their afternoon, is strangely comforting.
Keep your volume sensible if people are asleep nearby, and remember the report button works just as well at three in the morning.

What is Yapping voice chat?
It is the sound-only mode on Yapping: a random stranger, two voices, and no camera on either side.
How do I start a voice call on Yapping?
Select voice on the match screen, press start and give your browser microphone permission when prompted. A stranger joins as soon as one is free.
Can people see me during Yapping voice chat?
No. Voice mode never uses your camera, so the other person only hears you and sees your card with nickname, age, country and language.
Is Yapping voice chat free?
Voice chats spend the same free matches as the other modes, and the Reward Center timer refills them. After that, voice matches use coins.
Can I switch from voice to video during a call?
No, the mode is fixed for each match. Hang up, choose video and press start to meet your next stranger on camera.
My match says they cannot hear anything. Why?
Check that your browser has microphone permission for Yapping and that the right microphone is selected. Closing other apps that use the mic and reloading the page usually fixes it.
Does Yapping voice chat work on phones?
Yes. Phone browsers handle voice chat well, and a pair of headphones makes it much clearer.
Is Yapping voice chat for adults only?
Yes. Like every mode on Yapping, voice chat is only open to people aged 18 or older.
Can I talk to strangers by voice without sharing who I am?
You speak under a nickname and never need to give your real name or show your face. Yapping still keeps account records, and your voice is recognisable, so share personal details sparingly.
Are there voice rooms or group calls on Yapping?
No. Voice chat is always one to one; there are no group calls or rooms.
