Yapping rests on a plain hunch: most people online are tired of scrolling and would happily swap a feed for one good conversation. Everything here exists to get you to that conversation sooner.
Fewer feeds, more actual conversations
A lot of social apps are built for watching. Yapping is built for talking. There is no timeline to scroll, no follower count to chase on the way in, and no algorithm deciding who deserves your attention. You press start and meet whoever is there.
We kept the name because it is honest. Yapping is what happens when two strangers find something to talk about and lose all track of time.
Every spelling leads to the same start button
Names drift as they get passed around. A friend says it out loud, somebody else types it on a cracked phone screen, and by the time it reaches a search bar it could read Yapping, Yapping chat, yapping.me, yapping me or plain yap chat. Every one of those roads ends on this site, and the start button behaves the same whichever one you took.
Typos count as well. Yaping with a single p, yappin without the g, yappng chat with a vowel gone missing: they all turn up, and they all mean one thing. You came for a random conversation with someone new, and that is exactly what waits one tap above this paragraph. Searches for a Yapping video chat or a Yapping app come to the same door.

A question that comes up constantly: is this the Yapping app, the Yapping website or some sort of web version? Honestly, it is all three at once. Yapping lives in the browser, so the page you open on a laptop is the same Yapping you open on a phone, with one match screen, one coin balance and one Who's online list.
Want it to feel like an app? Pin it from Safari or Chrome to the home screen. You get an icon, the page fills the whole display, and nothing is installed along the way. Three modes, one stranger at a time
Every chat is one to one, in the mode you choose before the match: video chat for face to face, voice for when you want to be heard, text for when you would rather type. Next is always within reach, and so is the report button.
Around that core sit the pieces that turn it into a place rather than a slot machine: profiles, follows and messages, a Who's online list, live rooms, and a translate button on typed messages so a language barrier does not end the chat.

Nothing to fill in at the door
Your first visit asks almost nothing of you. No form, no profile to build, no photo to upload before the first chat. You arrive as a guest, pick video, voice or text, and press start. Newcomers start with some free matches, and over the match screen the Reward Center keeps a countdown running that pays out another reward whenever it finishes.
Signing in is optional and can wait until you have decided you like the place. Once you do, your coins, follows and settings travel along to whichever phone or browser you pick up next.
Real adults, from all over, at all hours
The people on Yapping are grown-ups who are awake and chatting when you are. One chat might be with a night-shift worker in Lagos, the next with a student who wants to practise English, the one after that with somebody in Mexico City who has just finished dinner.
Before anyone speaks, each side sees a small card showing nickname, age, country, level and language, which is plenty to choose an opener and still keeps real names and phone numbers out of the picture. When the two of you write in different languages, the translate button under each typed message fills the gap.
Nobody is hand-picked for you and nobody is filtered out by country. The queue is simply everyone waiting in the same mode, which is why the next face is so hard to predict.
Made for the chatty, the curious and the bored
Yapping is for adults who like chatting with people from outside their usual bubble: nurses and drivers killing time on a break, students practising a language, travellers missing home, and anyone who has simply run out of things to watch.

Friendly by default, strict when it counts
Only adults 18 and up belong on Yapping, and the house rules would fit on a sticky note: keep it clean, keep it kind, and keep money out of it. A report button sits on each chat screen and in each live room, and reports are reviewed by people rather than left in a folder. Breaking the rules costs the account, coins included.

More than a random match
Random matching is the front door, not the whole house. The Who's online list shows everyone around at this moment, while its Live tab collects everyone currently streaming. You can swipe from room to room, type in the room chat, send a gift, and ask for a one-to-one video call without leaving.
Private calls with someone you chose yourself are paid in coins. If your balance is short, Yapping points you to the top-up screen first rather than quietly starting a paid call, and a gift only leaves once you confirm it, so a slip of the thumb sends nothing.
When a stranger stops being a stranger
Some chats are too good to lose to the next button. Before you move on, open the other person's profile and follow them. From then on they show up in your Who's online list whenever they are around, you can send them messages, and you can ask for a private call when you both feel like picking up where you left off.
None of that is required. Plenty of people use Yapping purely for the surprise of a new face every time, and that is exactly as welcome.
The things we chose not to do
We do not pretend every chat costs nothing with no limits attached. Yapping is free to start, the Reward Center keeps handing out matches, and coins cover the rest; the details sit on is Yapping free.
Your legal name is none of our business, and neither are your socials. We do not publish a downloadable apk, and anyone selling one is not us. And we do not let minors in: Yapping is for adults, full stop.
